ATL (alien tech-level): Upgrades Organic unit weapons when certain ATL levels are reached. Equation = (Education + Mech Apt)/2 + Organic Unit level.

AON (all or nothing map): This is a map that can only be won if the attackers have EVERY SINGLE poc pocced. These maps are great for defense due to the fact you can win by just holding 1 poc. 80,88,00,08,35,42 are examples of AON maps.

ArmorPiercing (AP) Damage that ignores the armor of the target unit. It penatrates right through enemy armor.

armor: Armor is how much an attack is reduced by when damage is calculated. It goes by a linear match (Ex: If you have 100 armor and the attacker's weapon does 112 points of damage, you will reduce the damage by 100 and only take 12 actual damage).

avatar: The Avatar is what body/portrait you chose when you created your hero. There are two avatars that are avalable only to payers. Both seem to be wearing heavy armor.

Battle Commander (BC) The person who has the option of closing or opening of the battle. BCs are determinded by whether you are a paid member, tactics, and rank within a regiment.

category: A category of a hero is listed as INF(infantry) MOB(mobility) AVI(aviation) and ORG(organic). These level up based on your units' levels and when they level up. You get more category(or division) experience if your unit is at a higher level.

Camouflage (camo): Used by Revs,Aboms,Quorgs,Apps & Gear-docs. It makes the unit completely invisible and un-targetable. Very great for blocking ramps or pocs. While in camo, the unit cannot move or attack. The only way the enemy can destroy camo units is to either use "camo-detect" units such as the Manta. Or the enemy can use "area-effect-damage" such as Pigs, EarthQuake, SelfDestruct or a Nuke. A great tip for Daeva+Imp players is to put one of your units on TK, then stand that unit infront of the camo, and attack yourself. The flames/Grenades will splash onto the camo-enemy as well.

Capital (Cap)This is the main map where your hero will always spawn, also if you press the F8 key on your keyboard you will transfer back here. The capital map is the only one that the enemy cannot hit or grab.

Cap-Block (Cap-lock) You might here people suggest that we "cap the enemy" this means that a group of players [usually a regiment] forces their way towards the enemies capital border in order to block them within their cap. Also known as Cap blocking or Cap locking the enemy down. A great example of a cap-lock is on our Accomplishments page @ www.uent.net/ul/

Caves Caves can be found on anymap within this game, they are usually places for low lvl characters to lvl up. Caves are in different lvls for relic Lvl 1, 2, 3 Cave 3 can be a challege it is best to not try that alone.

Clout For every Clout Point you get half a point of Unit Quality (UQ for short). To upgrade your units faster through the Marks (MKs for short) and also for getting more advanced unit chassis and Organics faster. When your unit increases in the MKs you get more space which makes room for some of the more spacious armors, and also gives you extra armor/heal points (HP for short)/range/speed which increases as MK increases. Clouters make great POCing

Crater The crater also known as map 44 is the biggest map within the center of planet relic, it is currently 1 poc in middle with a factory for reparing. This map is commonly known for newbs and wulus camping it all day. Usually the faction that owns the crater, suffers from lack of reins at other maps. However if the faction uses the crater correclty it can be a very powerful field position for spring-board attacks towards the outside maps.

Cut (cutting) This is when a player grabs a map to block or "cut" the enemys reins off from another battle. This is usually frowned upon in the SG world, but sometimes it can be considered very strategic. (usually people cut off maps near their capital to make it easier to knock the enemys cap-block.)

division: SEE "category"

Dots: Dots are placed on the maps on the F2 screen in order to mark the field value. Dots are the slang term for map marker. Big dots are worth 3 field value points on the war-meter. Please read our BasicGuide page @ www.uent.net/ul in order to understand this.

Education: For every point of Education (Edu for short) you get half a point of Technology Level (TL for short), now this may not seem like much bit it adds up if you have a lot of Edu, thus letting you get a wide range and choice of advanced weaponry and other equipment. Basically if you want to kill a lot of stuff, go Tactics and Education.

EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse): An attack special that is used to drain the enemy units of their power. Once a units energy is gone, that unit cannot function in battle. It cannot retreat to bring out new units either, players that have units drained of energy within a battle are completely takened out of the game. Units that use EMP are, Wraiths, Voltes, Sappers, and Daevas. Most players would rather have their units get killed than EMPed(drained of energy) because once EMPed you are screwed. Solar and Organic units are able to re-charge so they don't have to worry about being EMPed.

EG (End-Game): everybody has heard the term eg, this means the last 4 mins of battle you should prepare to secure the pocs as best as possible. When people remind you that EG (end-game) is almost here, that means you better bring out your EG units. Prime EG units are (Warpigeons, Daevas, Ghasts, liths, phoenix) just to name a few. UL policy for hunters is to rein units to kill the daevas, ghasts, pigs.

Energy: Energy is the stock that enables your units to function in battle. If your units run out of energy then they cannot perform any commands; therfore they are useless unless until press [Ctrl+F6] and ask for a TK (team-kill

EQ (EarthQuake) Earthquake is a very powerful area-effect damage that is commonly used by Revs, Aboms, and Quorgs. These units will pound the ground making the screen shake, it is used for poc-clearing, or killing camo.

H-weapons / H-armor This means heavy weapon/armor usually the best kind, usually heavy weapons drain energy faster, but they deal the best damage.

hunter: Generally hunters are fast units that can cloak or get behind the enemy lines quickly and silently. Find enemy support units (such as arbalests, red-eyes, or spectres[nukers]) and destroy them before they can cause any more harm to your allies.

hybrid: This is a type of hero build in which your stats are generally evenly distributed. No one stat suffers in order to have a large ammount of another. These stats generally give versatile units that can assist in almost any situation.

hero: Your main character. He has the picture you chose when you started the game.

honor: Honor is only accumulated by payers. Honor is accumulated by time spent in battle. For every two minutes you are in a fight, you will gain one honor. When you reach the maximum ammount of honor (2000) you will get a medal showing you did so, also honor increases your units' HP by a percentage. (.5%/honor for a total of 10% more HP at 2000 honor[I may be wrong on this percentage

IRBM: "Inter-Regional-Ballistic-Missle" Only spectres can launch these, and it is generally their only job. IRBMs can be very dangerous as they take about 4 minutes to charge, then deal a minimum of 750 damage each (the weakest IRBM), and up to 11,250 (max damage from IRBMs on Relic).

killer: These units are usually of the EDU (education) build and cause large damage, but can't take much themselves. Think of these units like a glass cannon, fragile, fatal, but if they get in a tough situation they die easilly.

Mechanical Aptitude [MechAPT]:affects the amount of weight that your unit will have. Each point of MA adds .8% added weight to your unit's BASE weight, which is shown on F1. Since it is a percentage, it will have a much larger weight gain per point on a Behemoth when compared to a much smaller unit, such as a Hawk.

MP: "Morgana Prime", The "upper planet" This place has no offical hero category level cap, Unit level cap is 60. Also you can get reincarnations if you are above level 50 and a payer. Nonpayers can be successful here but it takes more time for them to level up. MP is a fun planet due to unlimited unit and attribute point potential. However the unlimited level potential makes it very unbalanced. Making MP battles less of a fair challenge for hardcore gamers that prefer a balanced game. SG will always be divided by MP players vs Relic players.

Morgana Prime: See "MP".

payer: At the Shattered Galaxy accounts section you can apply to pay a monthly fee of ~$10 ($9.95) monthly for the game. In bonus you get to deal full damage(as opposed to 80% for a non-payer), you get to use your accumulated uranium to unlock special units, participate in special events, accumulate honor, and gain full experience beyond level 50. (Side-note) To stay on Relic you don't have to pay, you can simply create a system21 character

Phase/Phasic A special ability for units that is either natural or equiped. Units such as spirits and slanths are naturally phasic. Units that are commonly phased such as Wraiths, must have phase equiped on them first. Rocs, Orbus, and Triages are units that can phase all phasic units. Phase allows a unit to be "tele-ported" from its location, towards the phaser. (example) Wraiths at the A1 port can be phased on-top of the D5 POC by the Orbus in order to poc, instead of walking all the way across the map.

PR (power-rating) Power rating is deterimened by your heros average lvl in each category. Max PR for players on Relic is 5. Max PR on MP (without reincarnating) is 10. On Relic most maps have a PR limit. The PR limit for a empty map on relic is 50. This means if you have 10 players with 5PR each they could all fit in the map evenly. Or you could have 25 players with only 2 PR to fit in evenly. If the PR in a map is already above 50 then the attackers will receive a PR bonus (to allow more players in) in order to compensate the defense.

POC: "Point of Contention", These small areas on the battlefield determine who wins the match. Different maps have different ammounts of time it takes to capture a poc varying from 50 seconds up to 2 minutes. To find out how long it takes to capture a specefic poc, select the providence in which the poc is, and it will have poc time listed in the description.

Quorg: A special unit only avalable to payers. There are two ways to aquire this unit. One is through a special event in which quorgs are awarded as a prize (this will be given in a code which can be then used to activate them for a pay account). Or you can save up 800 uranium to unlock them using the War Chest feature.

Relic: The "training" planet. All heros start out here, if you make a new character it starts here. The maximum hero category level here is: 22 and the maximum unit level is: 25. Nobody on Relic is overpowered, everybody hits the same peak. This is what makes Relic differnt from higher levels on MP with 70+. Most of the paying skilled gamers choose to stay on Relic because its less leveling and more skill. Unpaid members can also stay on Relic they should read our SYSTEM21 option. Relic is most fun if you are in a Regiment fighting another Regiment. UnitedLegion is the biggest training regiment on Relic.

SG: "Shattered Galaxy" shortened name for the title of the game.

Sim (simulator) The simulator is located within the D2 area of the capital map, it is a map that allows anybody to go head to head with nobody else interfearing with the battle. In the simulator its prime-time action and compeition. It is great for regiment practicing, and Regiment vs Regiment battles.

Singa;Singa-Timezone;Singa-players Basically these are players from Singapore and they are more active on their evening time-zone which is usually 9:00AM server time. These players are very important to keeping a great regiment running, because not only are they very skilled gamers, but they fight the enemy while most of us are either sleeping or handling our daily lives outside the game. Singa players are great people to team up with.

SP (slow-poc) this is a term that describes when a regiment decides to just wait for end-game before poccing all at once. Usually this is used if when everybody wants to milk the maxium Experience points for the battle.

stats: Your hero's stats. Generally they are listed in the order of: tactics/clout/education/mech apt. (Ex: if you had 20 tactics, 5 clout, 72 education, and 12 mech apt, you would display your stats as: 20/5/72/12). Sometimes when discussing stats, mech apt will be left open as to what ever is remaining, and this is shown with "x"s (Ex: 80/22/12/xx means you will fill out 80 tactics, then 22 clout, followed by 12 education, then whatever is left you will put into mech apt).

System21: This is a meathod to stay on Relic without being a payer. Create a new character and buy 9 units per category and never buy or sell more and you will never be moved to MP and you will have 120 attribute points to use. This is explained in more detail on the rest of the UnitedLegion training site.

Standard Maps: Maps that can only be won if the attackers have the majority of the pocs. There is no time rules on standard maps, the attackers may wait till the last minute to poc if they wish. (example) Attackers hit a 5 poc map, they need 3 pocs to win. Attackers hit a 4 poc map, then they still need 3 to win because majority pocs wins for attackers. (Defenders carry an advantage on 4 poc maps because they only need to hold 2 in order to win)

Tactics Tactics determine how many units one may use in battle per squad. 20=7, 40=8, 60=9, 80=10, 100=11,120=12

Time Poc This is a term used to describe a great strategic battle tactic. Basically the attackers play all of their End-Game units during the Mid-game. The attackers will try to poc every poc, when the enemy least expects it.

UnitedLegion(s): An older regiment that was created in 2004, which was brought back in full force on NewYears Day 2006. The biggest training regiment on Shattered Galaxy. The UL is a group of players who don't believe in using the typical "cookie-cutter" type style as the other "pro" regiments like to use. The UL with out a doubt, is the only regiment on Relic that has been moved 3 times (and for each time moved, has made their newly arrived faction number 1) Usually the faction that the UnitedLegion regiment fights for, becomes number 1. The UL made its return on Relic at the Helike faction; created by GeneralLeo.

unit's stats: Your unit's specefic stats. Generally these will vary slightly by level. Also small abbreviations are used. "k" is used to mark thousands of HP. Then armor is repoted. Similary to your hero's stats. (Ex: 10k/63 means you have 10,000 health and 63 armor on your spefic unit).

Ura (uranium) Uranium is a resource that is collected daily by paid members (maxium of 2/daily on Relic) and it is also collected through the faction winning the war-meter. (PR x 3 = Warmeter ura amount) Everybody including un-paid members receive war-meter ura, but only paid members are able to spend ura. Ura may be used to repair in the middle of maps, walk extra fast, buy gold weapons, and even unlock special units in the warchest feature such as Wights(250) or Quorgs(800). Uranium can also be used to change factions or move from MP to Relic. Most people spend 50 ura to move back to relic from MP, because Relic is a more skilled and balanced planet.

Victory Maps: These are usually a favorite map for all the Poccers out there. Victory maps are based on holding the pocs as long as possible through-out the battle, while racking up kills. The first 3 mins of battle most of the points are awarded to the team that kills the most. After that, then the game falls into the poccers hands. The team that holds the most pocs constantly through-out the game will win. Attackers are rewarded a slight advantage because when they rein the map, they receive "rein ticket bonus" which gives them maby an extra 100 points at the start. Please do not be fooled by the ticket"points", which ever team holds majority of the pocs (or even all) towards the last 4 mins will usually win the map. [Its very possible to make a 600+ point come-back on VictoryMaps] The best tip for these maps is to stay consistant and never let up. The last 5 mins is the most crucial part. Without great poccers these maps can be a nightmare. (Enemy loses points everytime you POC, or for every few moments you hold a POC)

War Chest: To access the War Chest feature in the game type: /help. This will show avalable options for payers, this is also how you unlock the special units: quorgs and wights.

War-Meter: The war-meter is what we are all fighting for. The faction that fills the war-meter the fastest becomes more advanced in weapons and other sorts of functions that uranium allows. The better technology and weapons will give that faction more wins, that is why the war-meter is very crucial towards a factions success. Its been known for some factions to become strong enough to collect 3 times more ura than their opponents. Press F2 and you will see the map of Relic, and you will also notice 3 bar-graphs on the right side of it, with Helike, Pompei, and Troy there. Each of these factions will have a number of points with their bar. You will also see a timer and it will say when the next “cycle” begins. The timer will be there and when that time goes up usually every 9 minutes the server counts all the lands for each faction and adds them up to our war meter. Once that bar fills up your factions moral becomes very high, and everybody receives a uranium bonus. The best way to gain points on the war meter is to Capture as many lands (provinces) as you can. If you look closely at the map you will notice certain lands have a Dot on them, this will show up as “Current field value” every plain land is worth 1 point, but lands with dots can up worth up to 3 points. These lands are very important for gaining points on the war meter, and you also get a free repair if you win the battle at that map. Competing to run faster than the other two factions are what this game is about, to be in the lead is to mean the faction is the best. (side-note) Unpaid members receive ura also from the war-meter. It is not uncommon for unpaid members to collect enough ura over-time and eventually become granted by a fellow friend with a chance to use it.

Wight: Another special unit, like the quorg, that is activated using the War Chest feature. This unit, however, is in the infantry category, and only cost 250 uranium to unlock.

Wulu: Not sure where this word came from, but it is a player who is not affiliated with a regiment. It is also used to describe players in "newbie (non-active) regiments. Wulus are looked down upon because they have no allegence towards any regiments and usually never take advice from respected faction leaders. Wulus are still the important aspect for a faction because they provide reins to the regiments with low population.
